Summary:
Geological monuments of Kiev-Kanev Dnieper bank are considered from three standpoints: as
geological sites — stratotypes of Paleogene and Neogene regional stages; as historical and geological
heritage — stratigraphic schemes from the very first to the existing were created on the basis of these
cross-sections; as a bright evidence of the evolution of the Earth — an analysis of the cross-sections
allows to reconstruct the history of the area from Eocene to Miocene inclusive.
