Popova L. V. Summary: Ground squirrels Spermophilus severskensis from the Novgorod-Seversky locality had acquired origi- nal trophic adaptations, which advanced him under conditions of periglacial ecosystems, but doomed him to extinction in the beginning of the Holocene.
