Proceedings of the National Museum of Natural History, 2014, Nr 12, pages 71–99 Ecological faunistic review of Nolidae (Noctuoidea, Lepidoptera) of Ukraine Geryak Yu., Zhakov A., Kostjuk I., Sergienko V. Summary: The results of the ecological faunistic studies of Nolidae (Noctuoidea, Lepidoptera) of fauna of Ukraine are presented. Now the taxonomic list of Nolidae of Ukraine consists of 24 species belonging to 7 genera and 2 subfamilies. In particular, 4 species: Meganola kolbi, Nola ronkayorum, Nycteola svecicus and N. kuldzhana are recorded on the territory of Ukraine for the first time; 9 species are registered in Volyn region for the first time, 5 in Cherkassy, 3 in Donetsk and Khmelnytsky, 2 in Vinnytsia, Zhytomir, Mykolaiv, Sumy and Ternopil, and 1 in Kyiv, Kirovograd, Lviv and Chernivtsi Regions. It was found that among Nolidae of fauna of Ukraine xerothermophilic ecotonic forest-steppe and forest-meadow species are prevailing, but the steppe ones are absent. The vast majority of Nolidae species of fauna of Ukraine are dendrobionts and develop on the plants of the Salicaceae and Fagaceae families, rarely on the Rosaceae family plants. Monophagy dominates among dendrophagous while polyphagy dominates among hortophagous. Bivoltine annual cycle is inherent for the majority of Nolidae of Ukraine. On the territory of Ukraine 11 species of Nolidae are stenobionts, narrow local and vulnerable and therefore need special protection.
