Summary: The results of the 11th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (Quito, Ecuador, 4–9 November 2014) (COP11) are presented. The main provisions of the COP11 adopted resolutions and related documents are characterized. COP11 adopted 34 resolutions dealing with financial, administrative, strategic, coordination, taxonomic and environmental education issues as well as conservation aspects of migratory species associated with invasive alien species, climate change, renewable energy development, ecological tourism, marine debris, ecological network development, bird poisoning, environmental crime. COP11 approved the international action plans for the Saker Falcon, landbirds, and Central Asian mammals, proposed the conservation measures for marine turtles, sharks, rays, cetaceans and African lion and considered 18 proposals for amendments of the CMS appendices. The recommendations for priority studies of migratory animals in Ukraine are given.
